La Trappe Bockbier
One of my favourite bocks, and the only Trappist bock currently existing. It has a lovely rich mahogany coloured body with a beige coloured thick creamy head which sustains throughout. It has rich aromas of sweet belgian sugars, toasted roasty malts and slight alcohol notes. The flavour is also dominated by the full roasted maltiness and a nice subtle drawn out hop note with nutty malts and pleasant bitterness driving through. Clean full bodied mouthfeel and a suitable moderate carbonation.
This beer is such a treat when it’s cold and wet outside and the winter days are starting to take hold, there really isn’t anything better than getting one of these poured and making the winter just that bit more enjoyable!
